The Case Files Pages

The ArkCase Case Files module lists all case files you are authorized to view. You can locate and open a case file from the Navigation Frame or from your dashboard.

From the Navigation Frame

To open the module from anywhere in ArkCase, click the Case Files tab in the Navigation Frame.

Note: By default, ArkCase lists all active cases you have permission to view and selects the first case on the list (list is in descending order, newest first.

From your Dashboard

Click the case from the My Cases widget on your dashboard.


Note: Click either the case number or title in the widget list to open the case file.


A summary (metadata) of the selected case appears as the first section of the case detail.

Summary Panel

The system creates the case number, identifies the Owning Group (determined by the assignee), sets the due date, and assigns the State (status). Your local configuration may generate other information.

Case Actions

The actions you can take on a case depend on your local configuration and permissions. For example, a read-only permission may apply to cases in which you are not the assignee or you are only following by subscription.

Use the Action Panel to:

  • Restrict the case to the owning group
  • Create a new  case
  • Change the case status
  • Subscribe
  • Merge
  • Split
  • Claim
  • Refresh
  • Send email

Links to Case Sections

Each section of the case opens by clicking the associated icon in the icon panel.

Note: The name of the section appears when hovering over each icon.
