Overview Of Tasks

The Tasks Module

To create a task, see Global New.

The Tasks module lists all your active tasks. Depending on your local customization, other user’s tasks may also be listed.

There are two types of tasks:

  • Ad hoc tasks: Tasks that a user creates
  • Workflow-generated tasks: Depending on your business process, there may be tasks that are automatically generated during the FOIA request process.

You can access the Task module from the Navigation Frame and from your dashboard.

From the Navigation Frame

To open the Tasks Module from anywhere in ArkCase FOIA, click the Tasks tab in the Navigation Frame.

Note: By default, ArkCase displays details for the first task on the list (items list in descending order, newest first).

From your Dashboard

Click the task from the My Tasks widget list on your dashboard.

Note: Clicking the Task Title or Parent Title in the widget list opens the Task.

Summary Panel

A summary of the selected task appears as the first section of the detail.

The system creates the Task number, identifies the Owning Group (determined by the assignee), sets the due date, and assigns the State (status). Your local configuration may generate other information.

Task Details

Expand a task to view the contents.

Select a section from the list.

Task Actions

The actions you can take on a task depend on your local configuration and permissions. For example, you may not be able to modify a task for which you are not the assignee.

Use the Action Panel to:

  • Sign a task
  • Subscribe to a task
  • Complete a task
  • Claim/Unclaim a task
  • Refresh the task page
  • Send email

Navigation Icons Panel

You can also access the task contents using the icons panel.

Note: The name of the section appears when hovering over each icon.
