The Tasks Module
The Tasks module lists all your active tasks, and depending on your local customization, other peoples’ tasks as well. There are two types of tasks in ArkCase.
- Ad hoc tasks: Tasks that a person creates—you create for yourself, you create for others, or others create for you.
- Workflow-generated tasks: These tasks automatically create as part of the business process.
You can locate and open the Task module from the Navigation Frame and from your dashboard.
From the Navigation Frame
To open the Tasks Module from anywhere in ArkCase, click the Tasks tab in the Navigation Frame.
Note: By default, ArkCase selects the first task on the list (items list in descending order, newest first), and opens in the Detail Frame.
From your Dashboard
Click the task from the My Tasks widget list on your dashboard.
Note: Clicking the Task ID, Task Title, or Object ID in the widget list opens the Task.
Task Display
Note: The enabled sections that automatically display when you initially select the Task are in read-only mode. To edit information about a task, open the section from the link or Expanded Treeview.
Summary Panel
A summary of the selected task appears as the first section of the detail.
The system creates the Task number, identifies the Owning Group (determined by the assignee), sets the due date, and assigns the State (status). Your local configuration may generate other information.
Task Actions
The actions you can take on a task depend on your local configuration and permissions. For example, a read-only permission may apply to tasks to which you are not the assignee or which you are only following by subscription.
Use the Action Panel to:
- Subscribe to a task
- Refresh the task page
Navigation Icons Panel
Click an icon to open the related section.
Note: The name of the section appears when hovering over each icon.
By default, the panel view is enabled.
Browse Panel
ArkCase displays a list of all tasks that you are authorized to view or act on. The default order of the list is most recent date added to oldest.
