Update Reports Configuration for Role Assignment

The reports configuration provides users the ability to manage all aspects of design, creating, updating, enhancing, and security for canned reports.  The reports configuration provides the following:

  • Quick Access to report designer
    • Creating
    • Editing
    • Deleting
  • Easy publishing of new reports
  • Role Based Access Control around each and every report

Reports configuration

Create New Data Source

  • Now click the Report Designer button, which will open the report designer login page

Create new data source

  • Now enter your username and password
  • When the you login click “Create New” and select “Data Source”

Getting started

Once you select “Data Source”, enter a “Data Source Name” (i.e. Exercise #5) and select a “Source Type”

  • There are 3 source types

Getting started

  • For this exercise, select “Database Table(s)” and now click “Add Connection”

  • Now enter the “Connection Name” = ArkCase, select “Database Type” = MySQL, “Access” = JNDI, and enter “JNDI Name”= acm3DataSource

  • Now click Test
    • If not successful check details in previous step
    • If successful click the “OK” button
  • Now select the new connection and click the “Next” button

Now scroll through the “Available Tables:” and select “acm_case_file” table, move it to the “Selected Tables:”, and click the “Finish” button

  • Now select “Keep default model” and click the “OK” button

  • Now proceed to the next exercise to setup a new Interactive Report

Create a New Interactive Report

The create report functionality will allow authorized users the ability to create new Interactive reports.

  • Now click the Report Designer button, which will open the report designer login page

  • Now enter your username and password
  • When you login click “Create New” and select “Interactive Report”

 

Interactive Report

  • Once you select “Interactive Report”, pick the “Data Source” you just created in the previous exercise
  • Now build your report by clicking, dragging, and dropping columns to build your report

Reports Scheduling

This section will allow authorized users to schedule reports to automatically be delivered to any email address(es).

  • Select the report to be schedule.
  • Enter the Recurrence, Start Date, End Date, Results Filter Start Date, Results Filter End Date, Output Format, and Email Address.
